As you know, not only Fedora but all Linux distribution who still try to make the distro purely just added open source package inside the distribution package will not have common codec. Fedora only support for open source codec format like OGG and OGV. For installing common codec, you will need this package installed :
  1. gstreamer-plugins-bad
  2. gstreamer-plugins-ugly
  3. gstreamer-ffmpeg
  4. gstreamer-plugins-crystalhd
  5. gstreamer1-plugins-bad-freeworld
  6. gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free
  7. gstreamer1-plugins-good
  8. gstreamer1-libav
  9. gstreamer1-plugins-ugly
Am I need to explain all of these package? I think no.. just install that packages,buddies.. (^_^)v

For installing packgae, you must use yum. I usually use terminal (or if you want to try Software, that's up to you). In terminal, forst you must login as root (yum need root priviledge for installing software)

$ su root

Password : <-- type your root password

And then, install all package. you can separating install these package or directly all in one command like this :

# yum install gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-ugly gstreamer-ffmpeg gstreamer-plugins-crystalhd gstreamer1-plugins-bad-freeworld gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free gstreamer1-plugins-good gstreamer1-libav gstreamer1-plugins-ugly

For checking, open Movie player (Totem) or GNOME MPlayer or Rhythmbox for checking the codec.

For your information, you can check How To Install Codec on Fedora 16
